Being a mom is no easy task, specially when you have a toddler that just loves to run around and play. Now that my son is 15 months old, I have more time to SOMETIMES get things done. I’ve always admired moms who wake up and get things done, specially those who are instagramers, bloggers, and youtubers. How the heck to they find the time to make themselves look pretty and put together? I barely have time to brush my teeth, wash my face, or finish my cup of coffee. Most people would say “wake up before your baby”, that’s the problem. He currently sleeps in our room (in his crib). If I wake up an hour before he does, he will hear the door open and wake up. Just recently, I have made the decision to get dressed even if it at 2 p.m.. According to my significant other, I NEED to STOP wearing (almost the same) pajamas all day long. I am aware that I look like a crazy person wearing pj’s all day long but they are so comfy.
Here’s a few reasons why I don’t dressed…
- I almost never leave the house so no one ever sees me.
- I don’t know the first thing about “fashion”.
- I don’t know what looks good on me.
- I don’t like wearing “revealing” clothes.
- I don’t have a lot of clothes. (other than t’s and tanks that go WAY back)
This week I tried and got dressed this is literally what I came up with and everything is going to look pretty much the same…no shame in that. It’s what I feel comfortable in and I PROMISE that one day I will step out of my comfort zone and wear different clothes. This is a work in progress people, in time I will find that “fashionista” that lives somewhere within me but not today, not today.
Note: All of my shirts are XS, shorts/jeans are 00, Chucks are size 6, and Nike’s are 7.
Monday’s outfit was good only because I had to go to Target to buy some items (diapers, wipes, and foods for the little man). It was also the ONLY day I wore make up (sad face). [Mossimo shirt, American Eagle jeans, Nike’s]
Wednesday, oh lovely Wednesday. All hell broke loose, shark week was here and all I wanted to do was curl up in a ball with my heating pad and slowly die. I took some Midol to relieve the pain and managed to get dressed. I’ve tried so hard to keep a good cleaning routine going I couldn’t give up mid-week. [Mossimo shirt, American Eagle jeans, Nike’s]
I don’t know if it’ll ever get easier or if I will ever find my inner “fashionista”, heck, sometimes I will probably stay in my pajamas all day or wear the same clothes two or three days in a row because I am am MOM and that means that my baby comes first. He will always be dressed, fed, loved and well taken care of and that is the most important thing in my life that matters most.
I’m glad that I am doing this because I am making a commitment to not only myself but to anyone out there that feels the same way I do. I want to encourage people, let them know that if I can do it, they can too. This blog is making me step out of my comfort zone. It’s time to take better care of myself, learn how to be confident in what I wear and put pieces together that will look good.
This is all new to me, I am excited to look back someday and see how much I’ve grown. What were your outfits of the week? Would you like to see more? Leave a comment down bellow and tell me everything.
