Hello everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful Wednesday. As I enter my third trimester and the temperatures are dropping (Hooray for that!!!) I need to do a little shopping because my clothes are not fitting anymore.
Most of my clothes I can still wear but there are a few things that I might pick up during a weekend shopping trip. When I was pregnant with Parker I only purchased three maternity shirts and three pairs of leggings which worked perfectly for the last three months.
I am not the type of person who needs to buy maternity clothes because I’m so tiny. Clothing options for me would consist of going a size up or just finding pieces that I know will stretch as my belly grows but will also fit after pregnancy. I would really recommend you do the same! Not only does it save you money but it works out for the better, you can continue using the clothes after pregnancy!
A few months ago, I purchased a few dresses from Forever21 and they are working perfectly with my growing belly…I almost wear them every day!! That’s how much I’m loving them (view post here) I think these dresses will last to the very end of my pregnancy and beyond! Today, I will share with you some tops,sweaters/cardigans, dresses, and, jeans/leggings.
I like these tops because some are flowy towards the bottom but others are longer which cover your bum, can be worn with leggings or jeans and the growing belly will still be covered.
These sweaters/cardigans are perfect for the cooler weather we are having I am really loving the “bat wing cardigan” pair a cardigan with a basic tee, some leggings, over the knee boots and you are set!
As a mom, dresses are starting to become my go-to outfits. They require no planning and you can easily pair them with leggings for the winter months. I would pair these dresses with a cardigan, leggings and over the knee boots…since they are shorter, I would treat them as a tunic but more flattering. I find tunics to be way too loose and not very form fitting on me.
Bottoms are more tricky to find and maternity jeans are way to expensive and don’t get worn very often or in my case, they just don’t fit! I’ve worn leggings all through this pregnancy and they have not been uncomfortable at all. I do plan on getting some more because I can still wear them after as my ‘mommy uniform” for days around the house or quick errands.
I do not recommend the denim jeggings because they are not meant for pregnancy (obviously!!!!) the only reason I am sharing them is because I saw a video where you take a pair of jeans you already own, cut the front pockets and sew on some elastic! That is so brilliant and I might try to do with a pair I currently own (video here)
I hope you guys enjoyed this post and remember, you don’t have to be pregnant to rock these clothes. Hopefully I go shopping for some of these items and feature them in a blog post in the future…best part about most of these items is that they are budget friendly!
